Q: What are the new Colorado requirements for concealed carry training?
A: As of July 1, 2025, CRS 18-12-202.5 requires:
At least 8 hours of in-person instruction
A live-fire shooting exercise
A written exam covering firearm safety, legal responsibilities, and self-defense laws Online-only courses no longer qualify.
Q: Who teaches the course?
A: Kevin, a sheriff-verified CCW instructor certified under Colorado law. His teaching blends real-world experience, legal clarity, and a commitment to safety.
Q: Where is the training held?
A: In Fort Morgan, Colorado. Classroom and live-fire portions are conducted at approved local facilities.
Q: How do I enroll?
A: Visit our “Enroll Now” page. You’ll receive a confirmation email with course details, required documents, and what to bring.
Q: What documents do I need?
A: You’ll need:
Valid photo ID
Completed registration and waiver forms (available on our site)
Q: What should I bring to the live-fire portion?
A: Bring your handgun, 100 rounds of ammunition, eye and ear protection. Loaner firearms are NOT available—please provide your own and make sure it is in good working condition.
Q: Can I take the course if I’m under 21?
A: You may attend for educational purposes, but Colorado law requires you to be 21 or older to apply for a concealed carry permit.
Q: What if I’ve never handled a firearm before?
A: No problem. Our course is beginner-friendly and designed to build confidence through hands-on instruction and clear guidance.
Q: Will I receive a certificate?
A: Yes. Upon successful completion, you’ll receive a signed certificate that meets Colorado’s legal requirements for CCW permit application.
